Never too sure about studies like these, but here goes anyway. The Institute for Economics and Peace (oh dear) has just published its first ‘UK Peace Index’ (oh dear, oh dear) and are pleased to inform us residents of Moray that we live in the 3rd most peaceful area of Scotland, after the Orkney Islands and Aberdeenshire. That picture is the beach just at the back of Castle Moraymint … looks peaceful enough, eh?
Just over 20 years ago Mrs Moraymint and I were faced with the daunting prospect of raising a family. We took the conscious decision to prioritise the quality of our children’s lives; living in Moray was the result. Good decision.
Anyway, I’m off for a bit of peace and quiet.

The sand storms keep you indoors, otherwise Moray might drop a few places 😉

Oh yes, the sand storms, the winter temperatures and the idyllic farming scenes of workers gathering in the harvest during November (wearing Parkas). Some negative, but mostly very good, memories. The local people were tremendous and the coastal scenery in particular was fantastic as, indeed your pictures show. The police were renowned for being diligent 40 years ago – anything changed?
